⇝About: Rebecca of Blue Butterfly Farm says about Gypsy: I found this mare at a kill auction when she was 8 years old, and it was clear that she was an ex-Big Lick horse given that she was dumped into the pens with her stacks still on. It took 3 years of barefoot trimming, chiropractic work, and massage therapy to put her back together and to get her moving like a normal horse should. She has scars on the backs of her pasterns and along the coronet band from soring agents and chains, and the corners of her mouth are severely scarred from the use of severe leverage bits. She is missing a front tooth from her previous life, and had to have a lower right molar removed due to damage. She is kept barefoot, though she wears Easyboots on all fours on hard surfaces and during the winter; she is also kept bitless to spare her scarred mouth. She requires supplements for her joints to keep her sound and comfortable during the colder months.

We found out a year later after much searching that she was registered, and have since had her papers transferred to the farm. She comes from the Gold Coin lineage, though we have explicitly chosen to not breed her.

Gentle and motherly, but will not tolerate harsh treatment; trailers, clips, ties, bathes, and stands for the farrier calmly; has gone through "bomb-proofing" training with the local mounted police force.

Gypsy was assigned to John Harris as part of the Equine Therapy program he signed up for, and was recently offered to the boy by Rebecca.
